Matt Hendricks is originally from Skipperville, Al. He has been a high school teacher and softball coach for over 20 years. After his first few seasons, Matt grew concerned watching some of the “things” his athletes were being “coached” to do and started pursuing his own knowledge of pitching with the hope of helping his current athletes be healthier and more successful. Since 2015, Matt has served as the head varsity softball coach at Auburn High School in Auburn, Al.

Matt has a passion for knowledge, and he learned about Tincher pitching from one of his high school players. After watching her do some drill work and noting how well she connected those movements to the full pitch, Matt asked the player about her current pitching coach, who happened to be a certified Tincher Instructor. After a couple conversations with Denny, Matt knew this was the group of pitching instructors he had been searching to find for years.

We asked Matt what sold him on Tincher Pitching

“I’ve always studied biomechanics and body movements as a baseball player, a golfer, and a softball coach. I’m fascinated by how people at the highest levels move and achieve things that many others cannot. After speaking with Denny, I knew quickly that the Tincher pitching community was built along that same framework; always working to learn and improve so our athletes can be healthy AND perform to the best of their abilities. I’m thrilled to learn from these outstanding folks and I’m thankful for the support I’ve received from the members of the group.”

Here is what Denny has to say about Matt: 
“In our first conversation, I felt like someone was toying with me.  Matt knew the answers to every question, so I suspected that one of our Instructors had been prompting him.  It took quite a while to realize that this guy had done the work on his own, finding better and more creative ways to develop his pitchers over the years.  Put simply, he is years ahead of the way most people outside of our group think about pitching.  Best of all, Matt is completely humble.  He wants to be challenged.  He is in the right place.  He fits into our group in every way.”
