We Train Professionals to Train Champions.
Meet Denny
Our story began when a young girl asked her father, Denny Tincher, to teach her how to pitch, and with no instructors nearby, they began learning the motion together, sparking a lifelong study of elite pitching through experimentation. That daughter, Angela Tincher, went on to become the 2008 College Player of the Year.
Her success ignited Denny’s passion to help other pitchers break through physical and mental barriers holding them back. Over the next decade, he watched his second daughter advance to Division I softball and later enjoyed seeing his youngest daughter, Abby, thrive in her own college career. During that time, Denny helped over 200 pitchers reach the college level and guided more than 2,000 injured athletes back to healthy competition without surgery.
Tincher Pitching grew into a national organization with nearly 100 instructors, grounded in innovation and athlete-centered development. Today, Denny is proud to see both of his daughters working alongside him as passionate instructors in different roles, as he focuses on elevating coaches and athletes through advanced education in mindset, injury prevention, recruiting, and long-term development.
Meet Angela
Angela Tincher O’Brien is one of the most decorated pitchers in Division I softball history. After developing her pitching foundation alongside her father, Denny Tincher, Angela went on to lead Virginia Tech to a College World Series appearance and became one of the most dominant pitchers the NCAA has ever seen. She recorded the lowest ERA in the nation for two consecutive seasons, was named the National Player of the Year in 2008, and ranks among the top three in NCAA history for career strikeouts and strikeouts per seven innings. She is also one of only three pitchers to ever surpass 2,000 career strikeouts.
Her most iconic performance came in 2008, when she threw a historic no-hitter against the U.S. Olympic Team — a feat no college team had accomplished in nearly 200 games — instantly cementing her legacy as one of the sport’s greats.
Angela now gives pitching lessons in Radford, Virginia, continuing to share her expertise and inspire pitchers through her family’s work with Tincher Pitching.
Abby Tincher Davis is originally from the Botetourt, Virginia area. After a very successful high school career, Abby began her D1 journey at Liberty University. As a pitcher, she was selected to the conference All-Freshman team, and also led her team their first ever win over an SEC team, plus tallied wins against two very strong non-conference opponents that year, Virginia Tech and Marshall.
After transferring to University of South Alabama, a hip stability issue began to emerge which led doctors to advise her to stop playing.
Abby decided that her heart was still in softball, so she wants to train the next generation of pitchers. Abby is now offering lessons in Tuscumbia, Alabama, and serves as the Director of Development for Tincher Pitching, studying with some of the country’s best and brightest to aid in instructor training, and developing our system of drills and techniques.
