Kaitlyn Grigsby
Prestonsburg, Kentucky
Kaitlyn Grigsby graduated from Perry County Central High School in 2024, where she helped lead her team to five district championships, two 2A Section 7 championships, and the 2023 14th Region Championship. During the 2023 season, she earned 14th Region MVP honors while helping lead her team to the KHSAA State Softball Tournament at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington, Kentucky. Following her high school career, she signed to continue her softball journey at the University of Pikeville.
While competing at the collegiate level, Kaitlyn discovered a passion for dental hygiene and made the decision to transfer schools to pursue that career path. Although her playing career came to an end, her passion for softball never faded. Wanting to continue making a difference in the game, she reached out to April Charles, who introduced her to Denny Tincher and the Tincher Pitching organization. She is now Tincher Pitching certified and provides private pitching instruction throughout Southeast Kentucky, where she is dedicated to helping athletes develop healthy mechanics, build confidence, and reach their full potential.
We asked Kaitlyn why she chose Tincher Pitching.
“I joined Tincher Pitching because I experienced firsthand how much it can change an athlete’s career. From 8th grade through my freshman year of college, I trained with April Charles after struggling with constant injuries. I dealt with persistent lower back pain and AC joint issues that eventually led to relying on cortisone injections just to continue pitching.
Through April’s coaching and the Tincher Pitching method, I was able to continue doing what I loved—pain free. They didn’t just help me become a better pitcher; they helped extend my softball career. That experience completely changed the way I viewed pitching mechanics and athlete development.
Becoming part of Tincher Pitching has been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. Denny is one of the smartest people I’ve ever had the opportunity to learn from. His knowledge of pitching mechanics, athlete development, and injury prevention is unmatched. I’m proud to be part of an organization that is committed to developing healthy, confident, and successful pitchers. Every lesson I teach is an opportunity to pass along the same knowledge that helped transform my own career, and I look forward to helping the next generation of athletes achieve their goals.
Here is what Denny says about Kaitlyn.
“She brings a ton of energy and enthusiasm to her work. When she came to study with me, she had so many questions, she was curious about every detail, and she absorbed information quickly. The kids just loved learning from her. That is a huge advantage in lessons. When you can connect with students like Kaitlyn does, the rest is easy.”
